I’m Ashlie —
the human behind Waylight Co and the unofficial president of “I can probably figure that out.” I do photos, graphic design, filmmaking, screen printing, websites… basically if it lives in the creative universe, I’ve probably poked at it until it made sense. Think of me as a one-person creative toolbox with too many hobbies and not enough storage space — I collect creative skills the way some people collect houseplants.
I’m at my happiest when somebody hands me a chaotic idea pile: random screenshots, scribbled notes, three Pinterest boards with totally different vibes — perfect. That’s my playground. I love turning mess into meaning and half-thoughts into visuals that actually feel like you. I have absolutely zero fear of creative chaos – I fear nothing except running out of coffee. And yes, we’re going to have fun doing it — if we’re not laughing at least once during the process, something went wrong.
The name “Waylight” came from something simple I kept noticing: people usually know the direction they want to go — they just need a little light on the path. It also ties back to one of my favorite and most meaningful verses, Isaiah 42:16 — the promise that God leads us on unfamiliar paths, turns darkness into light, and never abandons us along the way. That truth shaped how I see creativity: not just making things look good, but helping people feel guided, supported, and seen in the process. Waylight Co is my reminder that even in the “I have no idea what I’m doing” seasons, there’s direction and purpose.
As for me being a perfectionist? Oh yeah. Full send. I care about the details a lot — the layout, the timing, the color tone, the spacing between letters. Nothing is safe from me. But the goal isn’t perfection for perfection’s sake; it’s making sure the final thing lands the way it should. If it’s going into the world with your name (or mine) on it, it should live up to the vision.
Waylight Co isn’t a big studio — it’s just me, and occasionally a couple of my creative friends who jump in when a project needs extra hands or extra brains. We keep things personal, flexible, and honestly? We have a blast making cool things together. The process matters just as much as the final product, and we try to make both enjoyable.
Waylight Co is basically my creative playground — all the things I love to make, all in one spot. If you’re building something — a brand, a film, a project, a shirt drop — I’d love to help light the way forward and have some fun while we’re at it.
